Earlier this month, DYFO went down to Austin for the first Euphoria Music Festival at the Thunderhill Raceway. The event was put on by Vivid Sound Entertainment and featured Calvertron, Donald Glaude, White Panda, Big Chocolate, SuperVision, Govinda, Jay Fresh, and many more. Atari Teenage Riot - Collapse Of History (Mustard Pimp Remix)
Mustard Pimp has a new remix coming out of the song "Collapse Of History", by digital hardcore pioneers Atari Teenage Riot. The track will be featured on the second installment of ATR's "Collapse Of History" remix EP, which will be released May 1st on Dim Mak Records. Mustard Pimp's take on the song has a pumping beat and a sound that is a throwback to techno and acid house. You can listen to the new remix below.
D.V.S* - The Code EP
Derek VanScoten, a.k.a. D.V.S*, has a new EP coming out on Daly City Records on May 1st. The album is called The Code and it contains 5 brand new songs by the Brooklyn based guitarist/producer. To give you an idea of what to expect in this release, VanScoten has posted a 2 minute video preview of the new EP. VIDEO: Michal Menert - The Same Disease (Live)
Today is the release date for Michal Menert's long awaited sophmore album on Pretty Lights Music. The title is Even If It Isn't Right and contains a whopping 27 tracks. It has been two years since Menert's debut album Dreaming of a Bigger Life and he appears to have used his time well, creating over 100 minutes of soulful, hip-hop influenced electronica. Not only has Michal been prepping this latest release, he has been grinding it out on the road pretty much nonstop. He has been playing shows and various festivals all over the country. In fact, he recently debuted his new stage set-up at Cervantes in his hometown of Denver. The folks over at Swaager were on hand to capture the new live production and were kind enough to let us share their video with you. VIDEO: Futurecop! - Starworshipper feat. Diana Gen & Starrset
Tomorrow, London's Futurecop! will officialy release their single "Starworshipper", featuring Diana Gen & Starrset. The track, off their recent full-length album The Movie, is a triumphant dreamwave tune that will remind you of pop music from the late 80's. The instrumental version of the song has been around for quite some time now, making appearances on various mixtapes since 2008. The release will feature remixes from Lenno, Mitch Murder, Jowie Schulner, and Out There. The single also has a brand new music video that was directed by AJ Jackson. The clip follows a group of friends and their journey to a Futurecop! show in L.A., and the subsequent afterparty. Below you can watch the video and preview the full release.
Housse de Racket - Chateau (Country Club Remix)
Australian house producers Cassian and Shazam have formed a side project called Country Club. Today, they released a brand new remix of Housse de Racket's "Chateau" for free download. There have been some unofficial versions of this track floating around the web since around March, but this is the final version of the remix. They previously posted a remix they did for Monkey Safari's "Fat Papa", which gained support from the likes of A-Trak & Yolanda Be Cool. In May, the duo will release a 4 track EP on Jaymo & Andy George's imprint Moda. Below I have posted both the "Chateau" remix, and the "Fat Papa" remix.

VIDEO: Paul Oakenfold talks about the Starck Club
Twenty-five years ago in Dallas, the space that is now occupied by Zouk was home to the legendary Starck Club. The club was founded by Blake Woodall, Christina de Limur and Denis Corpet who in 1982 flew in French designer Philippe Starck to create what would become one of the most famed and revered nightclubs to have ever existed. The story of the Starck Club is the subject of a new documentary directed by Michael Cain called The Starck Project. This Friday night, Insomniac & Full Access Dallas will host an afterparty at Zouk for The Starck Project's unofficial cast and crew screening during the Dallas International Film Festival. The party will be headlined by the legendary Paul Oakenfold, with support from one of the movie's co-producers and longtime Dallas DJ WishFM. You can get tickets here. Major Lazer feat. Amber Coffman - Get Free (An-Ten-Nae Acid Crunk Remix)
Major Lazer have a new track out called "Get Free", featuring Dirty Projectors vocalist Amber Coffman. People have been buzzing about this track the past few days, it hasn't even been out one week and remixes are already popping up all over the internet. One track that sticks out is this version from San Francisco's An-Ten-Nae, who turns the laid back reggae influenced tune into one of his signature "acid crunk" jams. An-Ten-Nae recently released the 9th installment of his Acid Crunk EP series, featuring XOchitl. You can purchase that release on Beatport. He will be playing the Symbiosis Eclipse Gathering at Pyramid Lake, NV on May 18th. You can get tickets here. Theophilus London - Love Is Real (Fred Falke Remix)
French house producer Fred Falke has done a new remix for soul rapper Theophilus London's song "Love Is Real, off his debut album Timez Are Weird These Nights. This particular remix will be on the upcoming remix compilation for that album along with Skream, Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, Brodinski, and many more top notch producers. To celebrate the release, London has made Falke's remix available for free download, which you can do below. Be sure to purchase the Timez Are Weird These Nights remix album when it comes out on April 24th.
Midi Matilda - Day Dreams (MyKill Remix)
Earlier this month, San Francisco's DJ MyKill released a fantastic remix of the song "Day Dreams" by indie-dance band Midi Matilda, who are also from the bay area. This summery indie jam gets a nu-disco makeover by MyKill, who adds in some relaxing synths and a bassline that drives the entire track. MyKill will be DJing back-to-back nights in Anchorage, Alaska at the Platinum Jaxx club on 4/27 & 4/28. Midi Matilda recently played their debut show to a sold-out hometown crowd. Skrillex & Damian Marley - Make It Bun Dem
Dubstep superstar Skrillex and second generation reggae artist Damian Marley have teamed up on a new track called "Make It Bun Dem". If you are looking for a monster, earth-shattering bass drop in this tune, you might be disapppointed. However, the track does fuse Skrilly's signature siren chords with Marley's vocals and rasta sound to make a great dubstep tune. No word on any official release as of yet, but you can stream the full version below.
Beastie Boys - Root Down (Nadis Warriors Root Remix)
Austin, TX livetronica outfit Nadis Warriors have released their remix of the classic Beastie Boys song "Root Down". I first heard this gem when the group opened up for BoomBox in Dallas, and was very impressed to say the least. Now, the group has released the full version for free download. Nadis Warriors will be performing at Nocturnal Wonderland Texas on April 28th in Apache Pass, you can get tickets here. They will also be performing in Dallas the following weekend on May 5th for the Manifestation Celebation, you can get tickets for that show here. Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 - Slave Masters (Jacques Renault Remix)
NYC's Jacques Renault had an official remix release last week. The track he took on was "Slave Master" by Nigerian afrobeat musician and Egypt 80 bandleader Seun Kuti. This tune is featured on a remix EP for the album From Africa With Fury: Rise, which also features remixes from Ron Trent, Spoek Mathambo, JD Twitch, and Falty DL. Renault's version of the tune is very ambient and percussive, with echoed horns and vocals. The remix EP is available now on Knitting Factory Records. You can listen to the new track below.
Little Boots - Every Night I Say A Prayer (Tensnake Remix)
English electropop singer-songwriter Little Boots has a new single coming out called "Every Night I Say A Prayer". The single will be available April 23rd on Trax Records for free download and for limited purchase on 12" vinyl. To celebrate the forthcoming Record Store Day, Little Boots is giving away a free remix of the track from German producer Tensnake. The remix has a nice 80's groove with a soft drum pattern and dazzling synth lines. You can listen and download the new remix below.
Geisha Twins - Shake Dat Rump
San Diego's Geisha Twins have released a new orginal track called "Shake Dat Rump" for free download. The tune is another great disco house jam with a funky bassline that has a mild electro vibe to it. The duo just recently reached a milestone after gaining their 5,000th Soundcloud follower. They will be playing back-to-back parties next week for Scion A/V in both NYC and L.A. Along with the new original track, Geisha Twins released a free download of an official remix they did for Timi Juuti & Hector 87's latest original tune "Cheap Bad Moves. VIDEO: Big Chocolate at Euphoria Music Festival (Austin, TX 04/07/12)
This past weekend, we were out at the Euphoria Music Festival just outside of Austin, TX for a great night of electronic music. We saw sets from SuperVision feat. Jay Fresh, White Panda, Govinda, Archnemesis, and many more. One of the highlights from the festival was California producer Big Chocolate, who controlled the crowd with his energetic set. VIDEO: A-Trak, Kimbra, & Mark Foster - Warrior
DJ extraordinaire A-Trak, rising star Kimbra, and Foster The People frontman Mark Foster have teamed up for Converse's "Three Artists, One Song" series. Previous installments of the series have featured collaborations from The Gorillaz with Andre 3000 and James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem; Best Coast with Kid Cudi and Rostam Batmanglij from Vampire Weekend; and Matt and Kim with Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K.. This newest collab is called "Warrior", a great springtime pop anthem that will surely make its way in to a few pool parties and cookouts in the near future. You can download the new song from Journey's website. The new tune also has a music video that was directed by The Daniels. The clip features all 3 artists lacing up their kicks and donning Mexican wrestling masks to compete in an underground lucha libre battle. You can watch the video for "Warrior" below.

Anna Love - Ghost Champagne EP
Austin's first lady of bass Anna Love has released her first EP on Freshmore. The EP is called Ghost Champagne and features remixes from Cosmic Revenge, Sines, Tom Richman, and LDFD. Anna's two original tracks featured on the release are titled "NGAT" and "Skip A Beat". Both of these great tunes have deep bass tones with dreamy synths and lovely vocals. Anna is one of the main figures behind the Broken Teeth Crew, a DJ collective that has roots in both Texas and New York City. Aside from DJing and producing, Anna also writes for Berlin based Tropical Bass Magazine, which has helped her establish herself and Broken Teeth on an international level. Street Lurkin - Frenemies EP
Atlanta DJ/production duo Ryan Purcell and Lee Bates, a.k.a. Street Lurkin, have a new EP coming out this month on Play Me Records called Frenemies. The release will feature 4 electro and dubstep tunes and has a guest appearance from vocalist Anna Yvette on the track "Do You Feel". Yvette was also featured on the title track of their Hold Your Breath EP, which came out last month. Street Lurkin was formed in 2010, and since then have shared the stage with artists such as A-Trak, Kid Sister, and Le Castle Vania. In fact, the duo currently holds down a residency at Le Castle Vania's monthly FUCK YESSS parties in Atlanta. Street Lurkin will be one of the many artists performing at this Saturday's Euphoria Music Festival outside of Austin, TX. Gramatik - Solidified feat. Jay Fresh
Slovenian born producer Gramatik released his new EP today on Pretty Lights Music. The 6-track release is called #digitalfreedom and has a more bass heavy sound than his previous work, which has been mainly hip-hop influenced. The idea behind #digitalfreedom is that we need to protect our rights to online free speech and creativity, which recently have been threatened by the Stop Online Piracy Act. One of the standout tunes on the EP is the tune "Solidified", which features Dallas rapper Jay Fresh. His verse is the highlight of the track, which says a lot considering the quality of the production. You can download the song below, and check out a video teaser for the release. Martin Solveig - The Night Out EP
Today, French producer Martin Solveig released The Night Out EP on Big Beat Records. The title track was originally featured in Solveig's fifth studio album, Smash. The catchy vocals in the tune were done by Solveig himself. The new EP has remixes of the track by the likes of A-Trak, Madeon, The FatRat, and Maison & Dragen. The new release also comes with another collaboration with Canadian electronic band Dragonette, and a remix of their massive 2010 hit "Hello" by Don Diablo. Bill Nye The Science Guy Theme Song (Ynfynyt Scroll Club Edit)
Former Dallas Observer writer and DJ Rodrigo Diaz, a.k.a. Ynfynyt Scroll, recently posted a club edit he made of the theme song for the classic 90's educational kids show Bill Nye the Science Guy. Ynfynyt Scroll is a member of the Track Meet crew, a local DJ collective that also features Shooknite and Matte Blaque. Crew member Shooknite is hosting a new weekly at Rubber Gloves in Denton on Mondays, and the entire TM crew will be throwing a secret loft party this Saturday in Dallas with Austin producer/DJ Dubbel Dutch.
